Round table: Challenges for startups working on AI in Europe

September 02, 4:45 pm - 5:30 pm (CEST)

AI is a general purpose technology and one of the most critical drivers of the worldwide economy. Thus, reinforcing the European strengths in AI innovation, technologies and industrial applications is of the utmost importance. Especially since other continents lately invested heavily in the field of AI, making Europe lag behind. GAFAM has substantial financial and data resources to invest in new AI-based products in the US, whereas China has unfurled intensive efforts to achieve a world-leading position in AI. Europe has to improve in this area to bundle and connect its AI resources in a compelling way, but there are many “Challenges for Startups Working on AI in Europe”. At the second day of Lab2Market the 2nd of September 2020 from 16:45-17:30, there will be a panel moderated by Citius and visited by startups working with AI Technology, representatives of the international institution as well as public and private investors. Each of the Startups will present themselves and the specific challenges they continuously face when being an innovative AI Startup in Europe. After the presentations, a conversation in which they will discuss the common challenges, how to overcome them and what could be done in the future to make it easier to become an AI Startup in Europe will take place.
